Another Positive step in the Referee Development Programme
JKS England held it's 3rd Free Referee, Judge and Table Recorder Development course of the year at the Walsall Karate Dojo on Saturday 4th October. Once again, the course was well attended by a group of willing and enthusiastic officials all looking to improve their skill and knowledge as competition Judges and Referees.
The course was expertly led by the Geoff Dixon Sensei, and with the JKS National Open Championships just one month away, the course focussed on re-visiting the rules and ensuring that everyone was comfortable with them. Geoff was also able to share information and developments relating to Refereeing practice that had emerged from the recent JKS European Championships held in Denmark a couple of weeks ago, and discuss how they ought to be applied within JKS England.
The final hour of the course was dedicated to practical application of the rules as well as questions and answers on how different scenarios or circumstances can be dealt with.
Many thanks to everyone who attended and for their lively and enthusiastic contributions. Finally a big congratulations from
everyone in JKS to Geoff Dixon on recently passing his JKS Godan examination in
Copenhagen prior to the European Championships.
The next part of the Referee Programme will take place after the JKS England Technical Seminar in Nottingham on Saturday 11th October.
