Torbay Karate Club joins JKS England
JKS England are extremely proud to announce that Torbay Karate Club, based in Paignton, Devon have joined the federation.
Established in 1969, Torbay Karate Club is one of the oldest Shotokan Karate clubs in the UK and was founded by Bob Davis 4th Dan who is still an instructor at the club.
The Chief instructor is Raymond Alsop 6th Dan who has practised Karate since 1984 and has been a member of the KUGB since the start of his karate training passing Dan gradings with both Eneoda Sensei and Andy Sherry Sensei. Raymond has had success with the KUGB at regional and national level and has also studied Brazilian Jujitsu.
Bob Davies 4th Dan began training in 1969 after a brief time studying Judo. He was awarded Shodan in 1973 and achieved Yondan in 2014. He has a vast exeperience in Karate and has trained with some of the biggest names in JKA karate and still trains regularly today at 74 years young.
The club are now looking forward to a bright future in the JKS and all it has to offer for the club, its instructors and students.
