BKF success for the JKS England squad
The JKS England Squad had a fantastic weekend at the BKF Home Nations Championships in Leicester. This was, in fact, our most successful major domestic event ever and we unexpectedly topped the medal table ahead of 86 other Associations!
We came away with 7 Gold medals, two of which were Gold medalists last year. Sam Coxon once again won the Male Veteran Kumite and Maisie Redgrave and Isabella Wilkes won the Pairs Girls Kata 12-13 Yrs.
Sharif Ebrahimi, Abdul Saif and Harry Hardcastle all took individual Golds in Veterans Kata, Junior Male Kumite and Cadet Kumite respectively. Fantastic performances by all three.
Following on from Gold at the EKF Nationals last month, James Harrison, Abdul Saif and Ilyas Hamid took Gold in Cadet & Junior Male Team Kata. Jessica Maitland, Grace Baron and Amelia Stanley took Gold in the equivalent event for Females.
We had so many good performances and this weekend really highlighted how far the JKS England Squad has come in recent years. Well done to all involved, Coaches, Competitors as well as Parents and supporters who all give up their time to make this happen. Not forgetting, of course, Geoff Dixon who was there officiating.
Not resting on their laurels though, the Squad are back in action the weekend after next at the Cumbrian Open in Penrith.
