Amazing Results at the BKF International Open

JKS England had an experienced Squad of 31 compete at the Annual BKF International Open.  An excellent day overall saw us take 9 Gold, 3 Silver and 10 Bronze medals.  This saw us finish 2nd in the medal table, a great result when there are 75 Associations taking part.

There were some noticeable performances and regular high performing medalists taking Gold again.   Johann Santos in Senior Male Kata, Sharif Ebrahimi in Veteran Kata, Abdul Saif in Junior Male Kumite -55Kg, James Harrison in Cadet Male Kata and Joe Hird in Cadet Male Kumite +70Kg all won their respective events.

The Senior Male Team Kumite from JKS England which consisted of Remi Jurgilaitis, Tom Little and David Lister took the title with a win over Nepal in the Final, having previously won an all Shotokan semi-final against JKA England.

At this event JKS England Squad Coach, Nick Heald, qualified as an English Karate Federation Kumite Judge B as well.

Well done to all that took part.  The Squad move on quickly with 16 of them competing in Berlin this coming weekend at the Banzai Cup.
