Fifteen medals at the BKF International Open!
On Saturday 5th September a 25 strong team, selected from the JKS England squad were in action again at the the British Karate Federation International Open.
The event was held at the prestigious Emirates Arena in Glasgow and attracted over 1100 entries from 15 Nations, including the likes of Algeria, Brazil & Iran. The event was screened as shown in a series of programmes on Sky Channel 203 (My Channel) under the heading of MA Action... Great exposure for all the competitors as well as the British Karate Federation, of whom JKS belong to through our membership of the English Karate Federation.
Overall JKS England finished a very credible 8th position on the medal table out of a total of 57 teams who gained a medal at the championships. The team first entered this event in 2013 and finished 48th on the medal table. This improved to 20th in 2014. The progress made by the team at this level is superb and is testament to the hard work and determination by everyone especially JKS England team coaches Matt Price Sensei and Nick Heald Sensei.
The final medal count was fifteen with three Golds, four Silver and eight Bronze medals.
