The JKS England Nationals 2017
Sunday 19th November saw hundreds of competitors, coaches, supporters and referees descended on the Wildcats arena in Nottingham for the annual JKS England Open Shotokan Karate Championships.
As usual the event ran smoothly from 9am and 6pm but with the added complexity of moving from Shobu Ippon to WKF based rules at our nationals for the first time. However, the concensus was that this is a big step forward and made for a better competition. A huge thanks to all competitors who gave their all at the championships with some great performances in all the categories.
A special mention must go to Sensei Alan Campbell, Sensei Geoff Dixon and Wendy Preston for organising the championships. Also a huge thanks to the officials and table recorders and to everyone who helped set up the venue before and after the event.
