Productive weekend for JKS England squad members
On Sunday 18th October the JKS England squad took forty-one competitors north of the border to compete in the annual JKS Scotland National Championships.
The event is always superbly run and supported and this year was no exception.
We are pleased to say that the team came away with 9 Golds, 7 Silver and 14 Bronze. All results are listed below.
On the same weekend JKS England team captain Ashley Heald-Scott was in Salzburg, Austria competing in latest edition of the WKF Karate1 Premier League. This was Ashleys first K1 event of 2015 having taken time out due to injury. She was competing in the Female Kumite -61 kg event. The draw was not kind to Ashley who had to face the World number 1, Lucie Ignace of France, in the first round. She fought well but lost 4-1.Ashley then came back in Repecharge to beat Croatia 8-2, Slovenia 2-0 and draw 4-4 with Macedonia,losing on Hantei (Judges decision) 3-2. The event saw Ashley finsih 7th overall which was a brilliant comeback and saw her earn 80 points on the WKF global ranking.
