Success at the Central England Open Championships
JKS England and JKS Wales squad members travelled to the University of Worcester Arena to participate in the annual Central England Open Championships. It is always a high standard and hotly contested event that attracts elite British competitors as well as some overseas entrants.
Emelye O'Brien once again showed her dominance, winning the Junior Female Kumite +59Kg event. This follows on from her wins at both the EKF and BKF Nationals and her selection for the EKF National Team to take part in the Junior World Championships to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia later this year.
Matt Stockham, JKS Wales squad coach entered his first competition after
a break of 2 years and became Over 35 years Grand champion taking both
the kumite and Kata Gold medals.
JKS England also took 3 more Kata Golds, winning both the Senior and Cadet Team Kata events and Emma Barker and Lee Lamb took Gold in Senior Pairs Kata
The JKS England Squad has a couple of months off now before a selected team go to Glasgow for the British Open and then onto Hungary for the Budapest Open two weeks later.
